Project Babysteps

So a lot has been happening in my world. I've started taking my anti-depressants again and I've started seeing a psych. Things (like getting out if bed and forming coherent sentences) were getting hard and there was no chance of me accomplishing anything harder (like laundry, remembering to eat or what my name was). There is no shame in getting help, I'm just super stubborn and even avoid taking panadol or using band aids whenever possible.  I also decided that I needed to make a concerted effort to start reading again. So I started reading a book I received as a present from one of the loveliest people I know. It's called The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and I love it. It's all about Gretchen's quest to become happier and what she did to achieve it. She wasn't particularly unhappy to start with, she just felt she could be happier, more engaged in her own life and kinder to herself and the people she loved. She didn't want her life to just whiz by...

30 Day Challenge Again - Day Eight

short term goals for this month and why the 2010 day eight can be found here I'm not particularly good at setting goals. I struggle with that whole SMART concept; Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely... sounds like hard work to me! I tend to be more of a dreamer and schemer than a goal setter (you're stunned I know). I suppose though that I do have a few short term goals, not that I would really call them that. So here is my list SHIT I NEED TO DO (aka Goals) Make sure I take my anti depressants and my dexamphetamines EVERY day Blog Attempt to read a book now that I have the new concentration drugs Try to get to bed at a reasonable time, at least most nights of the week See, talk to, and hug my friends more Tell (and show) my family every day that I love them I'm not sure about the Specific, Measurable and Timely parts, but I'm pretty sure I've got attainable and Relevant covered :)

Day Eighteen

plans/dreams/goals you have well plans, dreams and goals are all very different. Goals have to have time frames, be measurable yada yada yada, dreams are all up in the air and plans usually involve lots of to do lists. At the moment we are about to start 'landscaping' our front yard and putting up a fence so I suppose that is a plan. I would also like to construct a fish pond and vegetable garden in the backyard and Alan has started lists and has sketches and measurements for those so I guess they are a plan too. Once master 4 starts fulltime school next year I am going to aim to make my business bigger and busier so that would be a goal for next year, along with helping Alan to grow our Jim's Mowing Business that we are about to buy (let me know if you need any gardening done!!). As for dreams, I have hundreds! I want to Learn to draw and paint, do an acting class, perform in a play, learn to sing, go on holidays in every state of Australia, drive around Australia in a ca...
